Description
Al-Quds Bard College (AQB), in partnership with the Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, is seeking a researcher with strong expertise in trauma-informed pedagogy to join a collaborative research project titled:
“Trauma-Informed Pedagogy in Fragile Contexts: The Role of MAT-Trained Teachers.”
This study explores how teachers in Palestine respond to trauma-affected learning environments, examining whether trauma-informed practices are present, how they are shaped, and how the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program may have contributed to their development.
The selected researcher will work as part of a research team and contribute to the following:
Contribute to refining the research design and theoretical framework, with a focus on trauma-informed approaches
Support the development of the methodological approach
Assist in designing research instruments (interviews, surveys, and classroom observation tools)
Contribute to the literature review, with a particular focus on trauma-informed pedagogy and psychosocial support
Participate in data analysis and interpretation
Contribute to the development of a high-quality academic manuscript for submission to a Q1/Q2 peer-reviewed journal
This role specifically requires demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed pedagogy and/or psychosocial support in education, particularly in fragile or conflict-affected contexts.
This is a collaborative research opportunity with strong academic and practical impact, contributing to both global scholarship and educational practice in challenging contexts.
Requirements
Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed pedagogy, psychosocial support, or education in fragile and conflict-affected contexts
Strong record of publications in peer-reviewed academic journals (preferably Q1/Q2)
Experience in qualitative and/or mixed-methods research
Proven ability to contribute to research from design through to publication
Strong analytical and academic writing skills
Preferred:
Experience working in fragile and conflict-affected contexts
Experience working collaboratively within research teams
Background in teacher education or school-based research
