Description
The Fair Shot Texas PAC is a general purpose political action committee associated with the Texas AFL-CIO working to elect pro-worker candidates up and down the ballot, build lasting worker power, and advance an economy that delivers a fair shot for every Texan. The PAC is building a targeted field program to elect pro-labor candidates across Texas in 2026 and seeking Regional Organizing Directors in key regions around the state to help lead that effort.
Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) are regional field and political leaders responsible for executing Fair Shot Texas PAC’s voter contact program in key regions across the state. RODs will work with the Field and Data Director to design and execute a regional field plan, coordinate with campaigns and allied organizations, oversee operations and a paid canvass program, and ensure their region meets ambitious voter contact goals.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced political environments, can manage multiple priorities, and is committed to advancing the rights of working Texans and building strong, long-term field infrastructure.
Locations: Texas (Tarrant County / Dallas County / Bexar County / Williamson County / Harris County )
Position Type: Full-Time, Temporary (July 2026 – November 2026)
Salary: $6,000/month with competitive benefits
Reports To: Fair Shot Texas PAC Field and Data Director
Requirements
- Partner with the Field and Data Director to design and implement a regional field strategy and work to continuously improve all field operations within the assigned region
- Lead the region’s voter contact program to meet ambitious goals
- Hire, train, and manage field representatives who serve as canvass staff while building a professional, accountable, and high-energy team culture.
- Provide daily trainings, coaching and support for field representatives
- Implement quality control measures
- Serve as the on the ground liaison with supported campaigns and allied organizations by participating in regular coordination calls and aligning efforts across the region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with neighborhood leaders, local committees,, and community stakeholders to strengthen the PAC’s presence and long-term organizing capacity.
- Oversee regional logistics and ensure day-to-day field readiness.

- Qualifications
- At least one cycle of campaign, labor, advocacy, or organizing experience
- Experience managing paid canvass programs, staff and/or volunteers
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Comfortable using VAN, MiniVAN, Scale to Win, or similar voter contact tools
- Able to work in a high pressure environment, and meet tight timelines
- Practice managing multiple competing priorities at the same time
- Available to work a non-standard schedule
- Passion for working to elect labor endorsed candidates
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
