Codilis & Moody, PC is part of the Codilis Family of Firms operating in six states: Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, Texas and Wisconsin. We are currently seeking a full-time Foreclosure Attorney in our Houston, Texas office. Our law firm represents creditor rights in Foreclosure, Bankruptcy and Real Estate matters. The successful candidate is expected to add immediate value to the team by assuming various transactional responsibilities. We require candidates who have been licensed to practice law in Texas.
General Summary: Ability to handle a high volume caseload consisting of transactional matters regarding foreclosure compliance, eviction proceedings, and title curative remedies as well as state and federal court litigation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include drafting and reviewing motions, briefs, pleadings and other documents. Handling court appearances and managing files in civil litigation, including motion practice, default and summary judgment hearings. Requirements
Job Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited Law School
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas (District Court admittance in Southern District of Texas preferred).
- 1 Year of related experience in bankruptcy, foreclosure, real estate and/or litigation a plus.
- Excellent communication, research, writing and analytical skills
- Strong computer skills and ability to operate in a sophisticated case management system
