Description
Looking to expand your client base while being part of a tech-forward mental health movement?
We’re on a mission to make therapy accessible, frictionless, and stigma-free. We partner with companies to provide mental health support to their teams, breaking down the barriers that usually stop people from asking for help.
Over the last couple of years, we’ve been reflecting on how we can best deliver on our founding promise to improve access to therapy. It's become clear that many employees need more than just access to sessions; they need an approachable familiar face, someone who understands their company culture, and support that feels less intimidating than traditional therapy routes. So, although Spill certainly still offers traditional therapy in the form of both courses and single sessions, we’re currently recruiting for a slightly more specific role: the Dedicated Counsellor. You'll learn more about what this entails during the application process.
Why work at Spill?
We know that for you to care for others, you need to be cared for, too. Here is how we support our practitioners:
Work Your Way Set your own roster.
You are in total control of your availability, with the ability to set daily and weekly caps. Whether you want to pick up a few extra hours or build a substantial caseload, Spill fits around your lifestyle, not the other way around.
Zero Admin, guaranteed.
We believe your time should be spent with clients, not spreadsheets. We automatically track your completed sessions and pay you on the 1st of every month. No invoicing, no chasing payments, no stress.
Clinical Support We take clinical governance seriously.
On top of your external supervision, we provide paid regular supervision.
Empowered to make decisions.
Unlike a traditional EAP, with Spill you work closely with companies and have significant discretion to decide how much support you can offer to your clients.
Because our service is free at the point of access for employees, most of your clients will be accessing therapy for the very first time. By making booking a session as easy a few clicks, we are removing the intimidation factor and opening the door to better mental health for thousands of people.
Spill is a community. Counselling can be solitary work, but it doesn’t have to be. Join a network of like-minded practitioners keen to share resources, discuss modalities, and support one another. Access our private Slack community to troubleshoot cases, ask questions, or just have a chat.
Requirements
We can only consider your application if you:
- Are already qualified — we don't accept applications from counsellors-in-training
- Are registered with one of the main counselling bodies in the Australia (for example, the ACA, PACFA). We are unfortunately unable to accept student or trainee registrations
- Have at least 200 hours of experience post-qualification
- Have clinical supervision of your own (although we will provide you with additional supervision as well)
- Have valid insurance that covers you for client work through Spill
- Are comfortable using technology like video-calling software and messaging platforms
- Are able to dedicate at least 5 hours per week to Spill work
These aren't necessities, but you'll find Spill a better fit if you're:
- Keen to get involved with our counsellor community
- Open to working in different ways, including single session therapy, written responses and more
- Happy to help us shape the future of Spill by engaging with us on some of the industries difficult problems, such as distribution of limited therapy
- Open to working with clients based globally as Spill operates across all continents
