Are you passionate about building a more equitable society? If so, please join Pacific Community Ventures (PCV), a mission-driven nonprofit organization invested in addressing racial and gender wealth gaps, through small business owners as local changemakers in our communities. We are seeking an Associate Director-level position to lead our Lending origination team. Over the past decade, our research projects and client engagements have helped define and build the field of impact investing; we have become a leading statewide community development financial institution (CDFI) in California; and scaled a nationwide mentorship platform for under-invested small business owners. Our audiences and clients include small business owners across the United States, volunteer business experts; leading foundations and impact investors; other CDFIs; and policymakers at the state and local level.

Who We Are

PCV is a 25-year-old 501(c)(3) nonprofit community investor that envisions a world of thriving communities where everyone has a fair shake. Our mission is to invest in addressing racial and gender wealth gaps, and build community wealth by investing in small businesses, help them create good jobs for working people, and make markets work for the common good. We achieve our mission through a "Good Jobs, Good Business" model that combines affordable loans with pro-bono advising, small grants, and tools and incentives to create dignified good jobs. In 2022, 90% of PCV's loan capital supported women and/or BIPOC-owned businesses, and 97% supported small businesses located in economically distressed areas.

Position Overview

This position will report to the Chief Lending Officer. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced lender with leadership skills to provide mentorship, manage a growing small business lending program and contribute to community development.

General Duties

Lead and manage the lending team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to achieve performance and impact targets.

Oversee business development efforts, including representing PCV at industry and community events; and building trusted relationships with community partners and loan applicants.

Oversee the underwriting and approval process for loan applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies.

Manage the loan closing process and work closely with the Business Advising team to ensure smooth post-investment mentorship support, towards good jobs and wealth-building outcomes.

Collaborate with the portfolio management team to monitor and evaluate the performance of the loan portfolio, implementing strategies to optimize portfolio impact and quality.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including borrowers and community partners.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and product innovation.

Prepare reports, presentations, and analyses to communicate lending performance and trends to stakeholders, including the Board.

Work closely with the Finance team on Lending/Accounting integration and reporting.

Help build and promote a just and equitable organizational culture at all levels, and in our work.
