Provide Executive leadership to the Financial Aid, Scholarships, & Veteran Services. Offices on all Blinn Campuses. This administrative position promotes high quality customer services, efficiencies of operation and continuous quality improvement in all aspects of the departments and the college and is responsible for the strategic vision and planning for student success. Participates in the development and implementation of relevant policies, programs, and services in accordance with the best practices researched by state and national organizations.
Principal Accountabilities
Administration and ensure compliance with all financial aid programs through the U.S. Department of Education for Title IV programs, the State of Texas financial aid programs with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and exemption programs.
Oversee porting of all financial aid and veterans processing to the State of Texas, U.S. Department of Education, and Texas Veterans Commission. Including but not limited to: annual reporting of the FISAP, maintaining and compliance of Blinn’s application for Title IV with the Dept of Education, cyclical reporting of the FAD001, development and submission of annual Cost of Attendance, Net Price Calculator, and other state, federal, and institutional reports or request for information.
Oversee office staff, plan and implement training programs for all staff. Project needs of the office and manage budgets. Supervise positions according to the organizational chart.Maintain full capability to stand in for the Director(s) on either campus as needed.
Responsible for being the main contact for financial aid presentations to various agencies to provide financial aid information and provide outreach to potential students in the service area. Provide direct service to students and parents with regard to all aspects of financial aid through various avenues of communications (phones, email, in person) and performs other related tasks as assigned.
Provides leadership at the campus level and supports regional and district objectives to ensure reliable and high quality services.
Collaborates with instruction, campus operations, and other departments to provide integrated and quality services to improve student success.
Participates and/or leads college-wide shared governance committees and other work groups.
Directs, monitors, and evaluates campus compliance with appropriate regulations of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Texas High Education Coordinating Board (THECB), U.S. Department of Education, Texas Education Agency, Texas Legislature, and other related regulatory bodies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, experience, and any other certifications or clearances
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 3-4 years of financial aid experience in a management position related to the duties and responsibilities described.
Thorough knowledge of current federal and state regulations governing the administration of aid programs.
Two years of supervisory experience.
A VA certifying official or the ability to obtain certification.
Minimum Competencies
Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding financial aid programs and the ability to interpret and ensure compliance with them.
Strong computer skills using Office products (spreadsheets, word processing) and experience with a Financial Aid management system above a user’s experience and knowledge.
Strong analytical and organizational skills combined with careful attentions to detail.
Self-motivated and goal oriented, team player.
Ability to communicate clearly and thoroughly with people of various back grounds and experiences in such a way that they feel comfortable and willing to work well together.
Ability to handle numerous complex and routine tasks simultaneously.
Ability to secure and protect college property by prudent and reasonable business practices.
Ability to effectively manage professional and support staff as well as student workers to produce that a positive work environment leading to high
productivity levels and school loyalty.
Travel is required between campuses.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in financial aid in a community college setting.
Position can be on the Bryan or Brenham campus locations. Travel is required between all Blinn Campus locations, as needed. Position has District Wide responsibilities.

Yearly leave time includes:
96 hours vacation 40 hours discretionary 16 hours personal 8 hours sick each month. Paid leave for college designated holiday’s, spring break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break (approx. 25 days per year)
