AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. (“AEGIS”) has an immediate opening for a Loss Control Manager, Natural Gas Operations in our Loss Control division to manage, coordinate, and implement the company’s Casualty Loss Control programs to support the Excess Liability Underwriting Division while providing loss control services to AEGIS Members with natural gas operations, liquid petroleum gas, and related energy systems. This includes assisting with Member’s efforts to mitigate the frequency and severity of incurred losses while generating value to support the AEGIS Loss Control Utility (Casualty) Operations programs and services.
Essential Job Functions:
Staff Management and Development
Supervise and oversee the work produced by Senior Natural Gas Utility Professionals (operational risk assessments and focused services) and Gas Operations Trainers to ensure quality, consistency, and effectiveness of services provided to members
Provide support for the AEGIS Gas Operations Training program coordinating topics relevant to public safety, incident response and risk mitigation
Develop newly hired staff by building their knowledge of Loss Control processes, including Underwriter Risk Assessments, Focused Services, Claims Coding, Lessons Learned Case Studies, and related products and services
Consultation
Conduct on-site technical risk assessments of insureds’ operating procedures and policies, documentation, standards and code compliance; address operating and safety issues, prepare reports of the findings including recommendations to reduce risk exposure
Provide consulting services to Insureds / Members to assist in the development of operating policies and procedures that will contribute to the reduction in risk exposure
Encourage Insureds / Members to adopt and integrate loss control and/or risk management principles in day-to-day operating practices
Communication and Documentation
Prepare periodic written communications and webinars to insureds on timely and relevant loss control or risk management issues
Coordinate in the development and distribution of new loss control services and products that are designed to assist insureds in reducing their overall long-term cost of risk
Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement
Keep abreast of industry trends and technology by attending relevant seminars and conferences, maintain a working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations, including § 192/195
Participate in industry association conferences to stay abreast of technical issues, developments, and industry trends and deliver presentations on Loss Control and safety issues when requested
Provide loss history, data analysis and case study information to Insureds / Member companies
Contribute to the development and enhancement of loss control products and services that support Insureds / Members riskmitigation efforts which includes modernizing resources and advancing an online knowledge center for natural gas utility workers, leveraging AEGIS’s extensive loss control expertise and experience
Strengthen and uphold AEGIS’s reputation as an industry leader with exceptional expertise in natural gas operations, public safety and risk mitigation

We expect to pay a starting salary between $158,000 and $168,000. An applicant’s placement within this range is based on their individual qualifications and professional experience. In addition to base salary, AEGIS employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s annual incentive program, with competitive awards based on corporate and individual performance.

Requirements
Job Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of solid operational/technical experience in natural gas transmission and distribution operations, liquid petroleum gas, and related energy systems including managing data, budgets and schedules
Minimum 5 years of experience managing people; experience managing remote workers is desired
Undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Associate Risk Manager (ARM) certification desired
In-depth knowledge of natural gas utility system operations including applicable codes, standards and regulations
Working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations, including § 192/195
Travel required (approximately 50% to 60%)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
