2026 National Field Director 
 
OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  
The 2026 National Field Director plays a vital role in ALWAYS UNITED LLC’s efforts to elect pro-worker candidates to the U.S. House of Representatives across the United States. They are responsible for organizing and managing the grassroots efforts to support targeted candidate campaigns. The National Field Director coordinates the Data Manager, between 4-6 Regional Field Directors and the team of paid Canvassers. 
They are responsible for the development and management of select field/canvassing/GOTV campaigns and field activities. The National Field Director works closely with other program staff, affiliated entities and sponsors. 
 
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  
Work with other staff, affiliated entities and sponsors to determine campaign field strategy and goals for specific campaigns;  
Develop plans to reach the general public in electoral campaigns in the 2026 mid-term election;  
Conceptualize and construct plans for field operations including strategy, materials, field budgets, work plans and overall timelines;  
Maintain regular communications with program sponsors on progress-to-goals and ensure there is timely reporting of information, which could shape strategy;  
Manage overall field operations, overseeing Regional Field Directors and tracking performance-to-goals, for multiple campaigns;  
Establish accountability systems in the field to ensure that campaign goals are met, including the implementation of post-campaign debriefs and assessments;  
Develop and implement strategies to streamline resources to support field campaign activity and to avoid duplicative campaign work;  
Manage, develop and train Regional Field Directors and provide opportunities for development;  
Oversee and support regional field directors’ efforts to recruit, train and manage canvassing staff in their district, including setting quota goals, comprehension of campaign materials and strategies, codes of conduct and accountability; 
Work with Data Manager to cut effective turf for field staff; 
Prepare and submit regular and ad hoc reports as requested;  
Other duties as assigned.  

COMPENSATION: 
This is a salaried position paying between $16,500 and $20,800 a month depending on qualifications and experience. 
Much of the work for this position can be done remotely but it is expected that the National Field Director may need to travel to meet with Regional Field Directors in the targeted districts across the United States. 
The position includes mileage compensation for business use of a personal vehicle and reimbursement for reasonable expenses. 
The expected duration of this position is through November 30, 2026.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:  
Bachelor’s degree preferred with a minimum of 6 years of campaign experience coordinating all aspects of a campaign including demonstrated success as a field director running canvassing and GOTV operations; 
Extensive knowledge of and experience working with voter files, modeling and targeting, and the Voter Action Network (VAN) or comparable national voter database system;  
Extensive experience drafting field plans including budgets;  
Experience managing field staff and diverse staff teams;  
Demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams and work effectively in a team environment in both a management and support role;  
Excellent listening, interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills;  
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts while maintaining important and effective relationships;  
Demonstrated ability to exercise excellent political judgment and discretion;  
Ability to work independently within context of a plan;  
Effective time management skills, including prioritizing and managing multiple tasks, and demonstrated experience in developing campaign and personal work plans and goals; 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;  
Ability to travel on a regular basis as needed, and for extended periods of time;  
Computer proficiency is required: email, internet, database/spreadsheet, word processing, and web conferencing.
