Position Overview
The Austin Institute of Dental Medicine (AIDM) is seeking a Clinic Director for Endodontics to provide clinical and educational leadership within its postgraduate training environment.
This role is designed for an experienced endodontist who values clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and thoughtful leadership within an academic clinical setting. The Clinic Director will oversee endodontic clinical services, support resident education, and contribute to the broader clinical and academic mission of the Institute.
Clinical & Institutional Environment
AIDM operates within a large, integrated academic dental center that brings together postgraduate programs across general dentistry and multiple specialties. Endodontics plays a critical role in this model, supporting comprehensive treatment planning, preservation of natural dentition, and management of complex dental pathology.
The Clinic Director will practice and lead within a facility that includes:
- Dedicated endodontic operatories within a multi-specialty clinic
- Advanced imaging and diagnostic technologies supporting contemporary endodontic care
- Access to an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) for medically complex or surgically involved cases
- Close collaboration with Prosthodontics, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and AEGD
- The environment is designed to support meaningful clinical volume and case complexity, while maintaining the structure, predictability, and academic integrity of an institutional setting.
Leadership & Educational Role
The Clinic Director will:
- Lead endodontic clinical services, including primary endodontic therapy, retreatment, management of traumatic dental injuries, and surgical endodontics
- Oversee clinical workflows, quality standards, and patient care outcomes within the endodontic service line
- Support resident education through chairside supervision, consultation, and interdisciplinary case collaboration
- Participate in treatment planning conferences and contribute to formal clinical education activities
- Collaborate with institutional leadership to support program integration, faculty coordination, and clinical operations

Requirements
- DDS or DMD from a CODA-accredited institution or foreign equivalent
- Completion of a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Endodontics
- Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (required)
- Minimum 5–7 years of clinical experience in endodontics
- Prior experience in academic, teaching, or clinical leadership roles preferred
- Eligibility for a full Texas dental license
