Description
JOB SUMMARYThe Bioskills Lab Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day technical operations of the lab program. This position oversees the Laboratory Technicians who are responsible for supporting the state of the art educational and research mission of the Organization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Coordinates the daily activities in a research lab to support and facilitate the development, implementation and assessment of lab research with faculty.
Facilitates daily set-up and break down of any learning events and ensures adherence and practices to maximize safety and operational effectiveness.
Demonstrates competence in and is able to assess the competence of other Technicians including providing excellent customer service.
Maintains training attendance logs and resident training completion reports with the ability to enter and retrieve data from a variety of resources.
Manages and arranges calendar for upcoming and ongoing courses.
Coordinates and maintains inventory of supplies, lab ware and lab instruments. Creates and provides metrics and reports on the usage of the lab.
Provides recommendations for budget and purchase of equipment, supplies and materials related to lab.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Experience with cadavers and live animals preferred.
Surgical Tech School certification preferred.
Able to work flexible schedules that may include evening and weekend assignments.
General understanding of scientific theory and methods.
General computer skills.
Ability to work under deadlines with general guidance.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
