- Assistant Executive Director
Description
WRC is looking for an individual who feels passionately about providing services to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence and stalking; is interested in eliminating domestic violence, sexual violence and stalking in our communities and has been a part of a leadership team and is excited to continue their leadership journey.
General Description: The Assistant Executive Director (AED) advances the mission of the Women's Resource Center by providing day-to-day leadership, ensuring high-quality trauma-informed services, and safeguarding contractual and grant compliance. The AED supervises direct-service program Coordinators and staff, builds organizational capacity, and services as Active Executive Director in the Executive Director's (ED) absence.
Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Alongside the ED, assume responsibility for the oversight and overall programmatic performance of the leadership team
- Fills in for the ED when unavailable due to annual leave and extended sick leave
- Provides feedback to project/task teams, as needed, to improve service delivery with attention to best practices
- Meets with ED regularly to discuss emerging issues and develop solutions
- Participates in leadership team meetings
Financials
- One of three signers on designated bank accounts
- Responsible for validating bank deposits
- Responsible for oversight of donor data-base
- Responsible for assisting with program budgets
Agency Administration
- Manages the day-to-day operation of the WRC
- Assures compliance with Standards and Criteria; State and Federal Grants; and Agency Policy and Procedures
- Oversees program evaluation
- Assures that WRC is in compliance with the requirements of all WRC contracts and external funding sources, including the maintenance of all records
- Responsible for monitoring leave time for salaried employees
- Maintains compliance with all certification/accreditation standards and prepares for all certification visits
- Supports the ED as needed in their quality assurance activities such as review reports, project staffing, deliverables management, internal knowledge management, and staff communications.
Personnel Management
- Assists ED with administration of of WRC's personnel policies to include at a minimum annual review and updates
- Provide direct supervision of administrative staff and other staff as identified. Provide project oversight to other staff
- Evaluates and identifies gaps in services, additional staffing needed and capacity building
- Recruits, selects, and makes salary recommendations and, if necessary, terminates WRC employees
- Conducts regularly scheduled supervision and staff meetings.
- Identifies, in consultation with the Senior Program Manager, Coordinator of Rape Crisis Services, Coordinator of Forensic Nursing, and makes recommendations for agency-wide professional development
- Arranges for necessary professional consultation for all WRC employees
Community Relations
- Promotes an understanding of WRC and its purpose and services throughout the community and state
- Develops and maintains contacts with other agencies, community organizations, and the media
- Represents WRC at appropriate community and statewide meetings
Planning, Programming, and Evaluation
- Manages the establishment, operation and evaluation of all WRC programs and services
- Assists ED in the development of short and long-range programmatic strategic plans
General Duties
- Represents WRC when required
- Follows all safety and health procedures required by law
- Follows all Policies and Procedures of the WRC
- Provides direct services as needed
- Performs other duties as required

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, prefer Master's Degree
- Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in personnel management, administration, human services (or related field, fundraising and financial management
- Three to five years supervisory experience with staffing, record keeping, and performance management
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, including public speaking
- Ability to work independently
- PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Experience with non-profit or human service organization
- Knowledge and experience relevant to intimate partner violence and sexual assault services, and prevention/intervention
- Experience developing donor and volunteer programs
